Mick is a vampire. Beth is human.

Their story really starts when Mick’s ex-wife Coraline, kidnapped Beth as a child so Mick and her could start over and be a happy family.

Mick did not see it that way. All Mick could see was a very frightened young girl who wanted to go home. So Mick saved her, killing his ex-wife in the process.

Since that day, Mick has kept a close eye on the girl, who ended up growing into quite a reporter for “Buzz Wire” News.

Beth meets Mick while she’s on a story (he, on a case) where she finds him extremely familiar but can’t quite place him. She does not know it was him that saved her as a child.

They work together on the same case and are quite the pair. Physical attraction is defiantly between them.

Beth eventually finds out that Mick is a vampire, seeing it for herself. She is confused and unsure of what to think of it. But the more she asks questions the closer they become and the more Beth realizes that he is putting his trust completely in her by telling her all this.

They both have feelings towards each other and a connection that grows throughout the series. Even Beth’s boyfriend Josh can see the connection between the two.

Beth has saved Mick’s life many times, and vice-versa. She has even let him drink blood from her to save his life.

It will be interesting to see where it goes from here…
